Abstract:

'Industrial statistics' covers many application areas and vast array of statistical concepts and methods. This talk will provide a selective review of research and applications and describe some emerging directions. Challenges faced by the demise of leading industrial research labs and the role of new ones as well as the gap between research and practice will also be discussed.
