Abstract:

The problem of identifying communities in large networks is an important problem nowadays. Spectral clustering is a simple algorithm that has received great attention recently. Recent research has demonstrated that regularization greatly improves the performance of spectral clustering. Here, we attempt to better understand regularized forms of spectral clustering in the degree corrected stochastic block model.
