Abstract:
|
Statway is a two-semester sequence to bring beginning students (ready for Elementary Algebra) to and through a college-level statistics course. Community Colleges across the country have offered this course since 2010. Experiences and data show that it has been very successful in terms of what the students have learned and in terms of the percentage of students who completed the sequence. The activities in the course are central to its success. Come to this poster presentation to see many of the carefully-designed activities and support strategies as well as data on the outcomes. Statway is a project of the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching.
