Weibayes is a well-known approach when failures are limited. However, the method has only been applied to fitting data to a Weibull distribution, with the shape parameter fixed. We derive the result differently and give an appropriate Bayesian perspective to Weibayes. The new derivation and its result allows us to use Weibayes in other situations, such as competing modes modeling. The new perspective allows us to compare Weibayes with other Bayesian approaches to analyzing time to event data.
