Abstract:
|
The Center for Devices and Radiological Health (CDRH) has been pioneering the use of quantitative decision analysis in the regulation of medical devices. This talk will relate previous applications of decision analysis to the most significant future application: Enabling patients to select medical device treatments that will optimize their personal results by maximizing their desirable benefits while minimizing their least tolerated risks. The use of predictive probabilities in informative medical device labels are the key!
