Keywords: exchangeable random partition ; cut-and-paste representation ; coalescent process ; random matrix products ; Markov chain convergence ; Levy-Ito decomposition
Abstract:

We discuss some recent developments in the theory of exchangeable partition-valued Markov chains, including characterization by the homogeneous cut-and-paste representation and convergence rates to stationarity. We conclude by mentioning some parametric families of potential interest in genetics and phylogenetics applications.
