Abstract:
|
An overview of the LOCUS measurement model based on classical true-test score and Item Response Theory (IRT) methods will be presented. Based on a spring 2013 administration of the LOCUS pilot assessments, an overall summary of the LOCUS assessment test and item characteristics will be given. Example items with favorable and unfavorable measurement properties will be used to illustrate how test item characteristics can inform revisions (or deletions) of test items on the LOCUS assessments. Additional examples will be given of how information provided by the measurement model can be used to inform teaching practice.
