Title: Accomplishments of STATCOM Chicago

Abstract:

STATCOM Chicago is a team of students seeking to collaborate, share their expertise, and support the statistical needs of pro bono clients. Only in existence for a year, STATCOM at DePaul University encompasses student collaboration with various local organizations and schools. This poster presentation will include a selection and highlights of STATCOM Chicago consulting projects conducted during the 2012-2013 academic year.

Projects exhibited will include topics dealing with Prediction of Student Loan Default Factors, Conceptualization of Melancholic Depression among Medical Students, Characteristics of High School students based on their participation in a National Youth Risk Behavior Survey Study, and Characteristics of Educators in the Chicago Area receiving grants for educational development. The poster will include graphics and tabular summaries of results that submitted by STATCOM member team.

Statistical techniques applied to these projects will include logistic regression analysis and categorical data analysis techniques using descriptive and multivariate SAS, SPSS and Salesforce.com.
