Abstract:

In this talk, we show how to construct exact and asymptotic confidence intervals for quantiles based on randomized nomination sampling (RNS) from continuous distributions. We will also describe how to construct tests of hypotheses and tolerance intervals under RNS design. We compute the coverage probabilities of the RNS confidence intervals and calculate the efficacies of the tests relative to their simple random sample (SRS) counterparts. We obtain the range of values of RNS design parameters which guarantee that RNS confidence intervals perform better than their SRS counterparts. Theoretical results are augmented with numerical studies.
