Abstract:

In this paper we show the operation review of the CPI-GBA base 1999=100 made by the National Statistics and Censuses Institute (INDEC) of Argentina and we enumerate the different observed bias in the construction of such indicator. As result of the revision INDEC made a methodological update which concluded in the CPI-GBA based on April 2008=100. It also showed the updates and improvements done in this new indicator. On the other side we also present the work we are making in order to construct the National Urban Consumer Price Index, with national scope, representing all the population of the country.
