Abstract:
|
Statistics problems provided by local organizations or businesses give students the opportunity to apply their knowledge to real and often messy data. In this roundtable, we will discuss the nuts and bolts of running an independent study (or senior capstone) group project that involves statistics problems solicited from the community. For example, how do you approach an organization? What are the expectations of the organization, of the students? How do you monitor students?
