Title: Statistical Challenges of Resting-State fMRI
Author(s): Gina M. D'Angelo*+
Companies: Washington University
Keywords: resting-state fMRI ; model-based methods ; functional connectivity
Abstract:

We will discuss the statistical challenges of resting-state fMRI data. An overview of methods for resting-state fMRI data will also be discussed. Emphasis will be placed on approaches for seed-based population-level analysis of resting-state fMRI data. Model-based approaches, including generalized estimating equations and mixed models, will be presented to address the temporal correlation of fMRI data and compare functional connectivity across groups. These methods will be demonstrated with simulation studies and an Alzheimer's disease functional connectivity study.
