Abstract:
|
Test and evaluation is an integral part of how the U.S. DoD procures major defense systems, e.g., fighter aircraft. Recounting experiences from several decades of supporting planning and analysis activities for developmental and operational tests, we discuss the role and application of statistical methods in DoD test and evaluation - highlighting challenges encountered in practice and anticipated in the future.
