Title: Relative Efficiency for Random-Effects Meta-Analysis Using Summary Statistics and Individual-Patient Data

Abstract:

This talk presents the relative efficiency for random-effects meta-analysis model using study-level summary statistics and individual-patient level data. We show theoretically the asymptotical equivalency between these two methods from relative point estimates and variance estimates as well as the associated statistical inference. Simulation study and real data from a placebo controlled clinical studies of lamotrigine in the treatment of bioploar depression are used to demonstrate the findings.
