Abstract:
|
Applications development most often involves a platform for form creation and computations with data from one or more databases. The following essay describes how to use Microsoft Visual Basic for Applications in Excel as a form and computation platform with Microsoft Access as a data repository and SAS as a data retrieval and processing application. It assumes VBA code and the Access database runs on a local DOS server. SAS programming and file access includes execution of code on a local server and/or remote execution on a Unix server. The intent is to provide a clear description of how Excel VBA, Microsoft Access, and SAS can be integrated in one application. Code examples are given to help implement methods described.
