Abstract:
|
Issues involved in designing and teaching an online course will be discussed during this roundtable session. The main focus will be on what should be considered when planning an online course, how to create an online course that aligns with the Guidelines for Assessment and Instruction in Statistics Education (GAISE), how to manage the online course when it is under way, how to involve students in activity and discussion in the online environment, and tools that online instructors can use to create materials for their online courses. The roundtable will be facilitated by an instructor who has been involved in online teaching since 2003, and this instructor will share many of the lessons she has learned over the years about creating a quality online learning experience for students.
