Abstract:
|
This roundtable will be a general discussion about how to work as an applied statistician located outside of a statistics or biostatistics department. Topics of discussion will include how to find those positions, how to successfully navigate between multiple fields, how to get promoted, and how to maintain connections with other statisticians. The roundtable leader is an Associate Professor of Mental Health at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health (with a joint appointment in Biostatistics) and has many years of experience working as an applied statistician in areas including education, public policy, and public health.
