Abstract:

Analytics, Sports, Data Visualization Is it possible we can get past the stigma of data as charts and tables taking the pure joy out of America's favorite past-time? Done right, data has the power to inform and excite audiences. From deep analytics for teams, to social storylines, to a 4-second message to a TV audience, analytics and visualizations are rapidly changing the way we view data in sport. This presentation will show how unique data analytics and visualizations are used in major and minor league baseball to tell stories for many different audiences.
