Abstract:

This session will discuss the NSF-funded Levels of Conceptual Understanding in Statistics (LOCUS) assessments that aim to measure statistical understanding of students in grades 6-12. The assessments aim to fill in the "A" in the GAISE framework while also address many of the standards in the Common Core State Standards. Data from over 2400 students will be presented. Sample responses and item specific data regarding students' statistical understanding will be reported.
