Title: Strategies for Joint Modeling of Longitudinal Inflammation and Health Events for Patients on Hemodialysis

Abstract:

For patients on hemodialysis, they are monitored quite closely, often for an extended period of time. During follow-up, much longitudinal information is collected, including for markers of inflammation (e.g., C-reactive protein); negative health outcomes (e.g., cardiovascular events, infection), possibly as recurrent events, may also be observed. We will discuss different strategies for jointly modelling the longitudinal inflammation data and negative health outcomes, including targeted modelling when considerations such as lagged associations are of interest. We will also present an analysis from a hemodialysis patient study.
