Abstract:

Data, data everywhere...and they are coming with velocity, volume and variety. Big Data workforce needs vary from data curators, data managers, data analysts and data scientists, among others. What are the unique contributions that statisticians can take a lead on? What are the pedagogical and training needs of statisticians in the era of Big Data? How can Business, Industry and Government can partner with academia to build the capacity? These are some of the questions that will be addressed.
