Title: Topics in Nonparametric Inference for Network Models
Author(s): Peter Bickel*+
Companies: University of California - Berkeley
Keywords: networks ; nonparametric ; asymptotic ; inference ; bootstrap
Abstract:

In B. and Chen PNAS(2009)we introduced a "nonparametric"model for unlabeled graphs with L=average degrees ranging from >>log(n) to O(n) and studied it asymptotically in relation to "block models". We will discuss various methods of fitting block models ,their extension to adjusted degree block models and to models with vertex or edge covariates. We will also briefly discuss "motifs" or "count statistics" and bootstrap methods for computing them and approximating their distribution.
