Abstract:

In this talk I will try to summarize Tom's numerous methodological, mentoring and collaborative contributions to statistics in mental health. I will also try to describe Tom's involvement with the National Institute of Health (NIH) and specifically the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH), including his 12 years of service on review sections and educational committees. I will conclude with Tom's legacy of leadership in setting up the standards for statistical rigor and innovation in public mental health research on a national level.
