Abstract:

This paper looks at the properties of measures developed to determine the classification of time-dependent covariates and to select the valid estimating equations. A subset of data from the Arizona Discharge database pertaining to rehospitalization was analyzed. Properties from these data were used to conduct a simulation to compare the different procedures in the analysis of binary data in the presence of time-dependent covariates. We provide some insights into fitting models with different types of covariates and the consequences of misclassification. In addition we fitted logistic models with the generalized method of moments estimates using SAS IML with the time-dependent covariates.
