This talk will include a general discussion of Limit of Blank (LoB), Limit of Detection (LoD) and Limit of Quantitation (LoQ), three related measures that characterize the detection capability for a clinical laboratory method at the lower end of its measuring interval. The information covered will be from the upcoming version of CLSI EP17. General methods to calculate these values will be discussed.
