Abstract:

We will describe initial efforts at validating existing depression and physical function self-report measures from the PROMIS batteries within and across the three sub-groups: persons at risk for AD, those with mild cognitive impairment (MCI), and those with early AD. We do so by testing Item Response Theory (IRT) assumptions as suggested by PROMIS investigators for other populations. We also assess the PROMIS measures by comparing psychometric performance with widely used legacy (i.e., traditionally used) measures of these domains. Finally, we explore possible new methods beyond IRT for psychometrically modeling the PROMIS data.
