Abstract:

We propose a Bayesian method to test for change points in a piecewise linear hazard model. For deciding between k and k+1 change points, the bayes factor for the actual data allowing on k+1 change points is compared to the distribution of bayes factors obtained from sampling from the estimated k change point model. Simple distributional assumptions are used for parameters other than change point parameters. We illustrate the methodology using data from an acute kidney injury trial conducted by the VA.
