Abstract:
|
We examined the potential impact of social and small area variables in a study of multiple worksites and the association with stroke outcomes. We used data from the 1987 to 2009 administrative hospital records, which were linked to data from the baseline and follow-up evaluation of cardiovascular risk factors of middle-age workers. We evaluated a range of socioeconomic and area characteristics of workers using standard survival analysis methods for repeated cardiovascular outcomes. We also examined the association between area variables and repeated events for the workers using geographic analysis methods.
