Abstract:

In this paper, we develop procedures for checking the adequacy of the marginal proportional hazards models for case-cohort studies with multiple disease outcomes. The marginal proportional hazards model may fail in several ways. The proportional hazards assumption might not hold. The functional form of the covariates might be misspecified. Or the link function might be inappropriate. To assess the appropriateness and the goodness-of-fit of the marginal proportional hazards models, we develop and evaluate model diagnostic procedures using a class of graphical and numerical methods based on cumulative sums of martingale-based residuals. The proposed methods will be illustrated with a real dataset.
