Abstract:

Corrected scores is an approach that has been used for decades now to handle models which have measurement error in covariates. This approach is based on finding a score function that is unbiased in the presence of measurement error. We use this technique to deal with the Fay-Herriot model in small area estimation where measurement error is present and hence provide efficient estimates of parameters that have lesser variance compared to estimates yielded by other methods.
