Abstract:

In a progressive Type-II censoring experiment when the underlying distribution is one-parameter exponential, the distribution of the Best Linear Unbiased Estimator (BLUE) is free of the progressive censoring scheme. As such, many criteria comparing BLUEs fail to identify an optimal censoring scheme. We consider here the problem of finding the optimal progressive censoring scheme for the exponential distribution according to Pitman closeness criterion.
