Abstract:
|
Have you noticed that your students tend to do the strangest or most interesting things? Would you like to start doing statistics education research? Are you writing your first JSE paper? Do you have graduate students in your statistics program who have become interested in research on the teaching and learning of statistics? Is your department thinking about offering a degree path for statistics education researchers? This roundtable will bring together people interested in doing statistics education research and those interested in training statistics education researchers. Among the topics up for discussion are opportunities for starting collaborations with other researchers, how to design publishable research, a new publication outlining the current statistics education research priorities, and the types of foundational experiences suggested by the ASA endorsed suggestions for statistics education graduate programs. Please join us and become part of the growing statistics education community.
