Abstract:

The goal of this paper is to study the nonparametric inference for the cumulative hazard function with right truncated data. The reverse-time hazard has been routinely studied when right truncation is present, but it does not have a natural interpretation. Utilizing the relation between the reverse- and forward-time hazards, we derive the variance estimators for the cumulative hazard estimate. The subsequent two-sample test for comparing cumulative hazard functions is further developed. We present the weak convergence properties and carry out the simulation studies to investigate the practical performance of the proposed test. Finally, a commonly used AIDS data set is revisited to illustrate the application of the test.
