Abstract:

This paper discusses the application of proportional hazard model to bivariate interval cencered data. Interval cencered data arise when the failure time cannot be observed directly but is known to fall within an interval. Although interval cencered data are very common in survival analysis, only limited work has been done for bivariate interval cencered data. Copula model is considered to model the joint survival function of two related failure time variables. A novel approach is proposed to estimate the regression parameters in the proportional hazard model and the association parameter in the copula model. Simulation studies indicate that the estimates of regression parameters derived perform well in practical situations and the methodology is illustrated using a set of data from a tumorigenicity experiment.
