Abstract:

Currently the estimation and inference of receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve that quantifies the capacity of a diagnostic test, is restricted to the case where biomarker is obtained from two independent groups of subjects, cases versus controls. The ROC curve and the diagnostic measure derived from the ROC curve is biased when correlation is ignored in the clustered data or matched case and control data. We investigate parametric and non-parametric estimation of ROC curve to the case where a group of control subjects is matched to its case subject and present inference procedure.
