Abstract:

The COM-Poisson distribution of Conway and Maxwell is used in weighted Poisson regression to model phenomena which are signi ficantly under-or over-dispersed; Bardwell and Crow's hyper-Poisson distribution can be used in much the same way. COM-weighting of the more general Extended Crow-Bardwell distribution provides even greater flexibility, including cases of zero-inflated distributions.
