Abstract:

In this note, we explore the skew-normal-uniform distribution and it's application. This distribution contains the normal distribution, but different from the Azzalini's skew-normal distribution. Explicit forms of its c.d.f. and moments will be derived. Then the corresponding method of moments estimation and the maximum likelihood estimation of location-scale skew-normal-uniform distribution will be disscussed. We also study the distribution of the sample mean and then study control charts for the skew-normal-uniform distribution.
