Abstract:

We present formulas for the exact levels at which a given step-up-down procedure controls the generalized familywise error rates, the data being drawn from a general and unknown distribution. Both weak and strong control cases are considered. These results close the gap between the corresponding existing results for the classes of step-down and step-up procedures.
