Abstract:

A variety of statistical methods have been developed to look for evidence of administrative cheating on high stakes tests. Recent availability of computer administered testing provides much additional information (such as time spent on each item each time answers have been changed) that can provide evidence of the sensitivity of more traditional statistical approaches. This paper will present baseline data regarding answer changing behavior on computer-based tests and compare different forensic approaches to administrative cheating detection.
