Abstract:

This session brings together senior election officials, statisticians, and election integrity advocates to discuss legislative issues, recent theoretical developments, and pilots of election auditing. One topic will be risk-limiting audits, which have a guaranteed minimum probability of correcting wrong electoral outcomes. California and Colorado have laws authorizing or requiring such audits and grants from the Election Assistance Commission to support pilots. The ASA has also endorsed Risk-Limiting Post Election Audits.
