Abstract:
|
Data is often collected by county across the state of Michigan. This data can be standardized such that statistics computed for each county can be assumed to follow the same distribution. Therefore, one could plot the statistics obtained from each of the counties on the same chart. But if the largest and smallest plotted points fall within the control limits, then all of the points are within the control limits. This provides the motivation for the group control chart. The authors will present the development of a group control chart that could be used to monitor county (or geospatial) data for the state of Michigan. The authors will also examine the power associated with the proposed group control chart.
