Abstract:

Longitudinal and temporal data are prevalent in the research fields of human health and medical treatments, financial and economic indicators, temperature and climate change, as well as plenty of other studies. A few interactive graphical tools were developed over the years, like Diamond Fast, XGobi and GGobi, etc. Cranvastime, as a new tool to plot the interactive longitudinal and temporal data based on Qt and R, overcame some limitations of the existing works and took a further step in exploring explore individual variation, differences and similarities for the longitudinal data, and studying the seasonal trends, temporal dependencies for the temporal data. The basic interactive functionalities, such as identifying, querying, brushing, linking, zooming, were implemented to cranvastime.
