Abstract:

Do you have ideas about statistical programming that you want to share with your colleagues? Have you considered blogging?

A blog is an online journal. In a statistical programming blog, you might discuss efficiency, best practices, and your experience with various software tools. Blogging promotes feedback and the exchange of ideas because readers can post comments to your blog. Some companies have internal blogs so that employees can share ideas with coworkers. You can also create a blog that can be read by anyone on the Internet.

In this roundtable discussion, Rick Wicklin, a successful corporate blogger who writes about statistical programming, will lead a discussion about blogging. Potential topics include the following: - How to come up with topics. - How to attract readers. - How to maintain a blogging schedule. - Internal or external blogs: Which to choose? - How to try out blogging with a minimal initial commitment. - How to get support from management. - How to measure and communicate your success.
