Abstract:
|
This proposal is for a roundtable discussion on the topic of statistics education for graduate nursing students. Discussion topics in relation to teaching graduate nursing students will include: curriculum; pedagogy; methods of assessment; nursing applications used in the illustration and teaching of statistical methods. We will also discuss the relationship between statistical consulting and teaching; for example, consulting with nurse researchers lends to identifying gaps in statistical training or knowledge for some nurse researchers, leading to the possibility of curricula changes and incorporating education and training on these topics in statistics course work for nurses.
