Abstract:

Within various fields of medicine and more precisely rehabilitation medicine longitudinal outcome measures often exhibit floor or ceiling effects. We provide various strategies for modeling floor and ceiling effects while simultaneously offering modeling techniques which are readily interpretable. Specifically, we present a number of nonlinear modeling approaches that can in turn serve as a basis for more complex analysis such as random effects modeling. This poster will include detailed examples of these nonlinear approaches along with similar and soon to be published results utilizing the Traumatic Brain Injury Model System National Database.
