Abstract:

Many students and professional statisticians face the choice of a career in clinical or industrial statistics. In this roundtable we aim to provide guidance to those who are beginning or switching careers by comparing and contrasting the opportunities and challenges of each path. Some of the discussion topics that we'll cover include 1) day-to-day job responsibilities, 2) the required technical and soft skills, 3) career development opportunities, 4) statistical research topics, and 5) trends in the future direction of each career path. Come to ask your questions or to share your personal experience!
