Abstract:
|
Minimax nonparametric estimation of regression and related ``nuisance'' functions like design density, scale function and distribution of regression errors is well known for the case of complete data. What can be done, in terms of sharp minimax estimation, if some data is missed? Asymptotic results for missing at random (MAR) and missing not at random (MNAR) cases are presented. It is also shown how the obtained result can be used for optimal sequential estimation and planning missingness. Methodology and methods of estimation are discussed.
