Title: Bayesian Modeling of Genetic Data for Risk Prediction
Author(s): Paola Sebastiani*+
Companies: Boston University
Address: 801 Massachussettes Avenue, Boston, MA, 02118, USA
Keywords: genetic risk ; bayesian ; graphical models
Abstract:

In this talk I will discuss different approaches to model genetic data when the objective is risk prediction. I will discuss methods to build genetic risk models that account for restrictions imposed by study designs and show that apparently different approaches are actually based on the same rationale. Some methods however are easier to generalize than others, and can be easily adapted to include gene-gene and gene-environment interactions. In particular, I will show examples of including genetic ancestry to improve risk prediction.
