Abstract:
|
Dynamic treatment regimes take advantage of treatment effect heterogeneity to individualize sequences of treatments. We present a intuitive approach, Q-Learning, that can be used to construct dynamic treatment regimes. Q-Learning is a generalization of regression to multi-stage decision making. This method, along with the associated approaches to forming confidence intervals, is illustrated on a variety of data sets.
