Abstract:
|
Andrew C. Leon, who was an invited speaker for this session, passed away Sunday February 19, 2012, at the age of 60, as a result of colon cancer. He was Professor of Biostatistics in Psychiatry at Weill Cornell Medical College and made enormous contributions towards statistical methods and applications in mental health research, including propensity score adjustment strategies for longitudinal treatment effectiveness data. Andy was scheduled to speak in this invited session on 'Two Propensity Score-Based Strategies for Investigating Psychotropic Medications and Suicide Risk'. In place of this, Andy's statistical collaborator, Don Hedeker, will present an overview of Andy's work in propensity score adjustment.
